Norilsk Nickel says terminates COO, to focus on local management
MOSCOW, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel will focus operational management in the egional divisions to boost responsibility and terminated the position of first vice president and COO, the company said in a statement on Monday.
“Norilsk Nickel … announces that in order to improve the management model and further develop the divisional structure, the company terminates the position of First Vice President — Operations Director. Sergei Dyachenko, First Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, is leaving the company,” the statement read.
“Three divisions will handle operational management separately — the Norilsk, Kola and Trans-Baikal divisions, which include the group’s enterprises performing production … and support functions.”
The changes would be an addition to the previous steps with the goal of improving responsibility of local managers, operational and investment efficiency and strengthening industrial safety and environmental risk management, the company said.
